EDUCATION, ARCHITECTURE AND CREATIVITY AS TRANSFORMATION MOTORS
CENTRO ROBERTO GARZA SADA - SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN
Monterrey, Nuevo León, 2026.
After more than five decades, the Universidad de Monterrey stands as a benchmark in northern Mexico. Its Roberto Garza Sada Center shines as a hub where education, architecture, and creativity converge to drive transformation.
THE UDEM ESSENCE
AS A GUIDING PRINCIPLE
Throughout its history, the university has kept a clear identity based on person-centered training, holistic education, social commitment, and Catholic inspiration.
This essence not only defines its educational model but also materializes in projects like the Roberto Garza Sada Center, where creativity flows by these values.
FROM “MADE IN MEXICO”
TO “DESIGNED IN MEXICO”
One of the CRGS’s most relevant contributions is its role in transforming the productive paradigm. From a logic based on manufacturing, toward a model centered on design, innovation, and creativity.
This approach positions the university as a key player in the development of the creative economy in Mexico.
Recently, students and alumni have gained international recognition in prestigious design contests. Highlights include first place at the Premio Inédito Universitario 2025 with “Herencia,” a project transforming sargassum into biotextiles through circular economy principles. Furthermore, the program earned honors at the A’ Design Award & Competition, positioning UDEM and the Centro Roberto Garza Sada globally. Successes at the Future Plastics and European Product Design awards further consolidate this international presence. Nationally, consistent participation in Design Week Mexico has showcased student work at Espacio CDMX. These achievements contribute to a legacy of over one hundred awards, reflecting the School of Art and Design’s academic excellence and competitive focus.
